And this will be long.
First of all, I've moved to Honduras. It's just for a little less than a year, but it's a huge difference from Sweden. My dad is working for the Swedish embassy, so that's why we're here.
Okay, so, actually, school here started the 13 of August. So far, I've gone three days. First off, we came on the 28th, so we'd already missed a couple of weeks. That was on a Friday, so on the Monday after, we went to visit different schools. Then, Wednesday, we actually started. Two days later they closed it for a week because of the swine flu. Then we had another week off because of the national holiday. And so, last Thursday, we were going to start again. Except then I had a terrible cold, so I couldn't go Thursday or Friday. However, I went on Monday and everything seemed fine. But an hour before we ended, the headmaster called out in the speakers that the ex-president was back in the country, so we all had to go home early. At four pm on Monday the government established a curfew, because the country was insecure. No one knows for how long it'll last, but until then we're not allowed to go outside. Some people think it'll take weeks. It all happened so suddenly, though, so not everyone has food and water (you can't drink from the tap here). Fortunately, we do, but since we don't know for how long it'll last, we've got to ration everything. And my little brother is really scared that there won't be enough meat, so he'll have to eat vegetables, ahah! I sincerely hope it won't come to the stage when I need to eat meat. Today, they lifted the curfew for a bit though. A lot of people think it's so the government can show the UN that they're treating the people fairly. But it was chaos. We tried to get to a grocery store, but the lines were never-ending and they'd only let in a couple people at a time, as to not get plundered. A driver from the embassy said we could try coming back a bit later, but then he called and said people were getting violent, so it would be too dangerous. And my dad is in a neighboring country for work, and they've closed the borders. He's thinking about trying to get into the country tomorrow, but I'm not sure. It's scary, really. Still, we're in so much better condition than the majority of the population. And if it gets even worse, the EU and embassy will help us.
From the three days I've actually been at school though, it seems great. Everyone is really nice and helpful. They speak Spanish all the time, though D: I'm like "no entiendo! no entiendo!" But they're great (: I take beginners Spanish, and there's no one else in my class. Most people didn't even know such class existed!
I hope all you guys are alright (:
And sorry for making this so long D:
